WITH CONTRIBUTIONS FROM SUPPORTERS LIKE YOU, WE ARE ABLE TO FUND THE CONTINUAL PRESERVATION OF THIS HISTORIC LANDMARK, offer free music, culture and community-building programs for children and adults—all in a unique performance venue in the heart of the city.
Half a century ago The Old Church Society formed to save, and then restore, one of the last examples of Carpenter Gothic architecture in Portland. As a nonprofit charged with the unique and challenging mission of preserving a historic treasure AND creating wonderful music and arts programs that enhance the cultural life of the community, we rely on community support.
WE NEED YOU NOW, MORE THAN EVER, AS WE MOVE INTO THE FUTURE.
After an intense year of restoration and preservation efforts, there is nothing more rewarding than to see this historic treasure so strong and stunning at 136 years old. Without our community’s support this beloved grand dame would be a distant memory. Your contributions literally keep her standing, and goodness knows, the older one gets, the more TLC one needs. Time to refill the coffers to continue the never-ending act of preservation.
IT TAKES A LOT OF EFFORT TO KEEP THE ENGINE PURRING!
As for what goes on inside these walls, we’ve entered a new era as a world-class performance venue, with strong programming to match the physical beauty and strength of the building itself. The hundreds of wonderful concerts and events each year generate income to help pay for its increasing regular and long-term maintenance. We know that if TOC is to survive it won’t be on looks alone, but because of its attraction as an arts and culture venue. Our programming is thoughtfully curated for the ever-changing and diverse community in our region, appealing to people of all ages, interests and backgrounds. Our intention is to attract future generations to love and support this place like we do.
We need your help now to keep our busy engine purring!
Thank you for believing in us, and for your generous support.
The Old Church is a testament to volunteer effort and stands today because of the love of its community. Thank you for your support and generosity. You may contribute by check, cash or card. Visit our office, website or mail a check to:
